Beach condos are pervasive up and down the coast of South Florida. One bedroom condos and up can be found at many locations. Newer buildings, older buildings and everything in between! Beach living in South Florida is magnificent, waking up and hearing the waves, relaxing on your balcony with a drink is second to none. However, you need to make sure you know everything about the building you are choosing. Choose from features like security, pools, size and status of beach (is it eroding?), and social calendars. Also, make sure you know what the HOA fees are and frequency/need of assessments. Do you need to consider if family will be visiting frequently? Make sure you have enough room! When you live on the beach, friends and family will be reaching out more often!
Finding a home in one of the many South Florida communities can be a daunting task. Options include gated/non-gated, 55+, new/resale, golf, etc. Make a list of what you’re looking for- there’s bound to be a community that’s right for you. Living inland means additional space, lawn, and more options. Even if you’re not directly on the beach, living in a South Florida community puts you most likely within 10 miles of the beach. Many of the communities have an on-premise restaurant, pools, gym, and social events. Some even have periodic shows that include concerts and comedy!
